Clipper Salt is a major salt distributor for the throughout the Pacific Ocean and Pacific Islands. Clipper Salt stocks various grades of Heavy Crushed Coarse Solar Salt at our warehouses in Pago Pago, American Samoa; Majuro, Marshall Islands; Pohnpei and Kosrae, Federated States of Micronesia; Noro, Soloman Islands; and Tarawa, Republic of Kiribati. Clipper Salt supplies only the highest quality salt products from Australia and New Zealand.

Clipper Salt is primarily used by commercial tuna fleet to make a refrigerated brine solution to freeze their catch while out at sea. Under ambient conditions, water will freeze at 32°F (0°C). However, once salt is added to the solution, the freezing point of water will decrease. For example, a 10% salt solution freezes at 20°F (-6°C) and a 20% salt solution freezes at 2°F (-16°C). In the tuna industry, it is customary for vessels to add large quantities of salt to the water in the fish-wells where the fish are stored. This allows the fish to freeze without actually turning the water into ice.

Clipper Salt also supplies salt to tuna canneries, meat packing facilities, local municipalities for road deicing, and many other industries.

Clipper Salt’s primary salt products are packed in 25kg, 50kg and 1200kg bulk bags. However, we can offer many other packs/sizes and also produce to our customers specifications. Clipper Salt also offers private label salt so that our clients have the ability to put their own color logo on each of the salt bags.
